The world’s largest Makgeolli Expo

Makgeolli Expo opens at Coex, November 9-12, 2011

The third annual Makgeolli Expo returns after having attracted worldwide attention with its 2009 debut.  It will run for four days from November 9 to November 12 at COEX in Samseong-dong.

Makgeolli Expo is one of the largest food expos in Korea and the largest to focus on specifically one food product.  aT Center, Be2Expo, and COEX, along with the Ministry for Food, Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, will co-sponsor the 60 domestic makgeolli brewers and businesses, who will be showcasing 150 kinds of makgeolli. 

At this year’s Makgeolli Expo, people will be able to experience a wide variety of tastes.  For example, makgeolli made with newly harvested domestic rice, makgeolli cocktails, and micro-brewed artisan makgeolli.  And of course for people who are not used to the drink, regular makgeolli will be available. 

Makgeolli continues to be extremely popular both at home and abroad, and this expo is a unique opportunity for people to sample, learn, and take home different kinds of makgeolli.
