Capsule |
| To
commemorate the 600th anniversary since Seoul became
the capital of Korea, the Seoul Metropolitan Government
built a time capsule containing 600 artifacts representing
Seoul and the lives of its citizens. The time capsule
will be open 400 years later on the 1000th year anniversary
since Seoul became the capital of Korea. |

Lee participated in the renovation of Gyeongbokgung
palace in the 1860s, which was ordered by Heungseon
Daewongun, father of emperor Gojong. |

The
exhibition hall displays top class Korean traditional
craft works
The exhibited craft works include porcelain craft, metal
craft, woodcraft, clothing handicraft, paper craft,
straw craft, leather craft, bone craft, and marble craft.

restored house built by master carpenter Lee Seung-eop.

restored house of Yoon Taek-yeong, father-in-law of
king Sunjong, the 27th king of Joseon. Yoon built this
house when his daughter moved to Changdeokgung palace
after she was chosen as the bride of the Crown Prince
in 1906. |

| The
house of Kim Chun-yeong, a high-ranking military commander
of the late Joseon dynasty. The house was built in the
1890s and was recently restored. |

of princess Yeonghye, the daughter of king Chuljong,
